Soon after, Tyler took Laura to the Festival of Lights at VanDusen Botanical Garden. After an enchanting evening, they shared sushi downtown at Ebisu, a magical night that marked the beginning of their journey together.

…And then COVID hit. Laura returned to Brazil for the next eight months, resulting in a time filled with countless Snapchats, late-night video calls, and lots of text messages. It was challenging being long-distance in such a new relationship but we both knew it was worth it.

When Laura returned to Canada in late 2020, Tyler set out to show her everything he loved about Western Canada, from hiking mountains, exploring lakes, camping, and all the beauty in between.

After Laura's graduation from the University of British Columbia in 2022, it was her turn to introduce Tyler to the beauty and warmth of her culture, in Brazil.
