A love story like no other.
What started with a lucky Bumble match in late 2020 became the adventure of a lifetime.
Tyler and Laura's story began in late 2020 with a lucky match on Bumble that quickly turned into something special. Their first date, a dinner on the campus of University of British Columbia, happened soon after and they instantly felt a genuine connection.
Soon after, Tyler took Laura to the Festival of Lights at VanDusen Botanical Garden. After an enchanting evening, they shared sushi downtown at Ebisu, a magical night that marked the beginning of their journey together.
They spent almost every day of the next two months together getting to know each other, while their love only grew.
…And then COVID hit. Laura returned to Brazil for the next eight months, resulting in a time filled with countless Snapchats, late-night video calls, and lots of text messages. It was challenging being long-distance in such a new relationship but we both knew it was worth it.
When Laura returned to Canada in late 2020, Tyler set out to show her everything he loved about Western Canada, from hiking mountains, exploring lakes, camping, and all the beauty in between.
After Laura's graduation from the University of British Columbia in 2022, it was her turn to introduce Tyler to the beauty and warmth of her culture, in Brazil.
Since then, they've made it their mission to see as much of the world together as possible, creating unforgettable memories along the way. All while building a beautiful life together in Vancouver. And embracing the joy of sharing each other's cultures.
In September of 2025, we took a big leap and moved in together.
Then, on January 5, 2026, Tyler proposed during the Festival of Lights at the VanDusen Botanical Gardens, a truly magical return to where our story first began.
Tyler and Laura now wish to share this journey with you all, in Rio De Janeiro!
